Wonder Box is a utility card case which allows you to change a deck of cards (inside a card box) into any small object/s. You show the cards in the box, and in the motion of throwing the cards out of the box, they change into whatever you desire (coins, lollies, a phone, etc.)
You receive in the DVD, the supplies to construct your Wonder Box gimmick, you need to supply your own card case. The construction is easy and straight forward, nothing difficult about it. My only issue was one of the parts supplied - I felt it wasn't strong enough to execute the gimmick properly. I did replace this part with a supply of stronger power (without giving too much away) in order to make my gimmick function properly.
The method is wonderful (excuse the pun) however. It is built into the card case and you can really let your imagination run wild with what you want to produce from the box. The box may need to be replaced eventually due to natural wear and tear, however can use the gimmick provided as a template to make your own if needed. There are a lot of things that you can produce with this gimmick, which I personally found really fun (experimenting with different objects around my room with the box)
This can be used in performance but will require you to carry the Wonder Box gimmick in a separate pocket to your deck of cards, as it DOES require you to perform a deck switch (no spoilers there). Jacket pockets would be best so that your box won't be crushed, as jeans could ruin your gimmick with the amount of pressure being exerted onto the box.
The DVD is very well produced and the teaching is very clear as well. Everything from construction to tips and ways of using the box is covered. They could have given more ideas and examples of what could be produced with the gimmick, but I feel it leaves it up to you as the performer to be creative. As always with SansMinds, no production/lighting/sound quality problems. Top notch.
If you see a use for this in your performances, it does what it says it does. If you are interested, buy it. Only thing to be aware of is the fact that you may need to replace one supply to it lacking in quality. However if this is the type of thing that could fit nicely into your card routine, then grab it up :) great, visual fun which allows you to be creative with your routines. 8/10
