Re box is an effect by Rian Lehman where your deck of cards, somewhere in your routine, visually make the box appear around your deck. You can also make the box vanish if you want to.
The method for Rebox is pretty cool. Not new by any means, but I loved the way it was constructed to allow the effect to happen. It uses a gimmick most of us know for vanishing a card box but with the added part which allows you to visually Rebox your deck as well.
The gimmick you receive is in a red Bicycle Rider Back design. It is very well made and should last you a long time. It also seems very sturdy so longevity shouldn't be an issue.
It works very well and can hide in a deck of cards for a brief amount of time. does limit you to a short ambitious card routine or something similar before performing the boxing, just because the gimmick has to be set up in the pack to have it in there so you don't want it in the ready position for too long.
The effect itself is easy to execute and looks great. It takes a little practice to get to speed so the move is quick and smooth, but this shouldn't be more than ten minutes. Angles are the only thing that might need caution, but they aren't that bad at all. If you work with Nicholas Lawrence's Unboxing, Color Drop by Bizarro, flap cards and other effects of the sort, you will know the angles to expect with this.
The DVD is about half an hour long and is silent taught. This isn't an issue however as everything is very easy to understand. You get ahead of variations and different ways to perform Rebox, such as different changes, vanishes and routines you can do using the gaff. The production quality isn't Theory11, but it's definitely good. No problems here.
I perform Freedom Pack by Justin Miller. A lot. I close my routines with it as a déjà vu plot. When I saw the demo for this, I was interested as to how it would compare. And it delivers. Both have their pros and cons, this one's pros definitely being that you don't have to go your pocket or turn your back, and you can make the box vanish as well. I really enjoyed this and it has some clever ideas to offer. If you see a way of using this in your routine, by all means pick it up. It's a really great effect that is easy, visual and really fun to play with. 9/10
