This has to be one of the best torn and restored cards ever, or at least, this is very, very, very good!! Karl Hein has come up with an ingenious, flexible method for the T&R with many possibilities. This allows three types of restorations - flash, in the spectator's hands and piece-by-piece.
The method is great. It takes 5-10 minutes to set up a deck and you can perform the effect 52 times. This makes it incredibly practical as you only need to carry around a deck of cards and you are set to go. The effect is very easy and the cool thing is that although the tearing sequence looks the same in all three versions, you can choose which restoration to do at any time. In my opinion, the flash restoration was the best, which is strange because I am a sucker for piece by piece restorations. The flash restoration is quick, visual and impossible. The "in the hands" restoration is great because it is pretty much angle proof and you could probably do this surrounded. Karl also added a nice piece by piece restoration as well, which I loved.
The DVD is one of the best I have seen in a long time. Mr Hein goes into so much detail regarding history and crediting. I loved that he explained how he came up with Heinstein's Dream, very interesting. The instructional section was great, there were over the shoulder segments which really made learning the routine much easier. Karl really knows this effect inside and out, you can tell due to the amount of tips and advice he gives throughout. We need more products to be produced to this standard.
Overall, this is the best torn and restored card I have come across. I, as many others, am always searching for that "Holy Grail T&R". Although we will probably never find, Heinstein's Dream comes very close. For $30, you get an amazing DVD and an incredible torn and restored card with three variations to suit your personal performance style. Well done Karl!! 10/10
