Upgrade is a very visual way to change an indifferent card into a signed selection in the spectators hands. This gimmick also allows you to vanish and transpose playing cards. You receive a handmade gimmick (in either red or blue) and supplies to make more (in another colour or back design).
The gimmick is very clever in design. It allows an easy change and you can focus more on the presentation. The gimmick is strong and will last a long time if you take care of it. Inside the DVD are supplies to repair or make a new one if the gimmick breaks. The gimmick can be visible in the wrong lighting though so you have to be careful.
The DVD is very well produced and everything is taught very well. There are heaps of ideas/routines taught which utilise the Upgrade gimmick. One of my favourites was a way to use the gimmick as an ender for Ambitious Card. Also you are taught how to use the gimmick to make a sandwiched card vanish and reappear somewhere inside the deck of cards. This reminded me of Shin Lim's Sandwich Making routine taught on 52 Shades of Red. You are taught how to make your own gimmick from scratch with the supplied material and repairing the gimmick is taught as well.
I think that Danny did a great job exploring the different uses for the gimmick and I can definitely see people getting a lot of use out of it (if it suits their performing style).
Overall, this is a great gimmick with endless possibilities. I am very happy with this product and I love the visual aspect of the change, not to mention the fact that the spectator can hold the card during the change. At just below $30, this is a great investment. I really enjoyed this. 9/10
