I have a thing for torn and restored cards. There, I said it. I love the plot and the mystery behind it. Alexis De La Fuente has a version in which a selected card is torn and restored, then changes into the previous selection. I like to think of this as another version of TNR by Mathieu Bich. Bich's version was very clever except impractical on so many levels. This is a great alternative.
The method does require a gimmick but the gimmick can be re-used again and again. Also the routine is very easy to accomplish. The gimmick takes at most 3-5 minutes to construct and will last you quite a few performances.
The download itself is well shot and Alexis, although being French and having a slight accent, speaks well and you can understand everything he says. The teaching is good, it has over the shoulder POV and he also goes slowly over each section of the routine, ensuring you understand everything he is teaching.
One thing that annoyed me is that it is kind of implied in the ad copy that once the card is restored and changed, that is the card. In reality, you will have to do a switch but the one taught is very good and justified within the routine.
Overall, this is a great idea and it is obvious that Mr De La Fuente has put a lot of time and effort into this download and effect. I like the methodology behind this and for $7.95, this is a great piece of magic. Besides that I personally felt that the ad copy was a tad misleading, the effect is great and has lots of potential. 7.5/10
