Firstly, I want to start by saying I had no experience in card manipulation before these. I had watched the Dan Sperry manipulation series on theory11 but never put the effort in to practice. This DVD, however, was an eye opener for me and I now want to put in the time to perfect the techniques and build my own routines.
The DVD is broken down into three sections - beginner techniques, moderate techniques and advanced techniques. This was great because it layer out the basics and then allowed you to move on to the more difficult and time consuming techniques. The basics were taught very well and went over techniques such as vanishes and productions of single cards or fans. Intermediate techniques were more variations on basic techniques. The advanced section was where most of Lee's original techniques were taught.
The DVD is very well produced and although there weren't any verbal instructions, there were text pop-ups which in my opinion, helped me learn better than verbal would have. Each technique is taught in front of a mirror. This is great because you get the front and back view all the time, this makes learning so much easier. I also loved how you get example routines and there is even a break down of the trailer.
At the beginning, he shows how to prepare a manipulation deck with a technique I personally haven't seen before (remember I am still a beginner though). I tried this out and combined it with a very basic manipulation routine and it looked great!
Overall, this is a great project. Everything is very well covered and it is great value for money. I learnt a lot from this and no stone is left unturned. I really enjoyed the teaching style on this and I look forward to more from Lee. I have always found manipulation difficult (hence the reason I didn't continue practicing before) but I am already advancing and I feel confident in the techniques I can now execute. This is a great project and I highly recommend this if you are looking into manipulation. 9/10
