Pocket SansMinds Sharpie is a specially modified mini Sharpie pen which has three functions:
1) A permanent marker on paper, great for having cards signed
2) A dry erase marker
3) A moving ink marker which allows you to "move" ink or make it vanish from an object or skin
The pen works to an okay level. There were a few issues, such as at times you could still see the ink on skin after it moves or vanishes. Also it would smudge at times. The idea of having a thumb tip in your pocket with a wet sponge inside is probably the best method for getting the moisture necessary, and works a lot better.
One issue I also had was that the Sharpie logo on the pen literally scratched off after being on my keychain for one day with light use. This makes the credibility of the pen suffer, due to the non-existent brand logo?
On the DVD, you get a bunch of routines using this gimmicked pen. There are visual prediction effects, coin from pen caps, one where you move ink from one area of the table to another, and a bunch more. I enjoyed the variety and thought put into those effects, I liked that they all were different and didn't have the same theme throughout.
The DVD itself was very well produced, no issues there. Herman is a great host and keeps things light and upbeat, making the learning experience fun.
I had my share of issues with this pen, however when using the thumb tip method, I had a lot more success. I liked the portability of the pen, as it can be carried on your keychain at all times. Overall, if you see a use for this pen and don't mind putting the effort in to experiment to get it working probably, then I would say give it a shot. 7/10
