Offset is a brilliant gimmick which allows you to perform a ton of customisable revelations on the back of your card box.
The gimmick is of great quality and will last you a very long time with proper care. The fun thing about this was I opened it up and started playing with the gimmick. Even though I knew the mechanics, I just couldn't understand the way the gimmick actually works. I hope that makes sense.
It is ingeniously clever and I had a lot of fun trying out all the revelations possible with this gimmick. You receive supplies to make a huge amount of different revelations which you can choose from when performing. The refills can also be made inexpensively by yourself if you need more revelation material.
The DVD is shot fairly well, not the best production quality but you do learn everything that you need to learn. He is in depth with his instruction which is great. He also teaches on the DVD how to make a new gimmick box from scratch which is great. Wear and tear will eventually get to the box, so it is nice to be able to make a new one.
There are a few ways to perform reveals using the Off Set gimmick. You can reveal a word, card, name, sentence, etc. or you can do a really visual rising card where you see the drawing move as the card rises out of the deck. The rising card is great, however, you will ruin a Off Set box because you have to draw on the cellophane.
Overall, many said that the $45 price was too steep. However for the thinking behind this and the amount of material given for making reveals, this is very reasonable. This is a great product which I am currently using to make my name appear to introduce myself when I start my card set. You cannot go wrong with this in my opinion. 9/10
