I recommend you watch the trailer (above) in order to understand the effect, as it is quite difficult for me to describe it. Basically you have a thin square, and when you turn it over, the spots repeatedly change value. After six rotations, you throw the square into the air and instantly becomes a 3D die. This cannot be handed out for examination.
The prop you get is of decent quality. I can see this lasting a long time. The method is simple and easy to do, once you understand the written instructions.
You don't receive a DVD, instead you are supplied with a 4 page booklet outlining the moves in the routine. This was somewhat hard to follow and required having to re-read sections again. However, once you understand, you can do the routines easily and I must say, flawlessly.
The prop is very easy to work (with the smallest amount of practice) and the production of the cube is automatic. There is a reset involved which takes anywhere from 15 seconds (my average) to maybe 30 if you're slow. The set up is easy to remember but for the first few performances you might need the booklet as a cheat sheet for the reset.
This would work well in a parlour situation or in a kids show. I am planning on using this at a camp next week where I'm booked for a kids show.
Overall, this is a nice piece of magic. The prop is good quality (you do receive supplies for repair if you break it). I wish the instructions had been a little better (perhaps an instant download to go along with it?) It is also a little pricy for $35 but if this suits your performing style or you can work this into your act then this would be perfect for you. It's a nice effect.
