Hey guys. I just watched this yesterday and this is really clever. This is a signed coin penetration into a signed card. The spectator can then rip the card open the self and take out their signed coin and keep everything.
Christopher Wiehl goes into extreme detail into the construction of the gimmick. The only downfall to this effect his it takes about 3-5 minutes to make the gimmicks and it is destroyed after every peformance. You will need a few things for this, but most people have them around the house.
The gimmick is very easy to use. When I first saw the effect, I thought it was a slit inside the edge of the card. But then when I watched the video I saw what the gimmick was and I still couldn't understand how it would work to perform the effect. Nevertheless, it does work and is a fun thing to perform.
The routine is fun and easy to perform. The great thing is that it seems impromptu and that the spectator did the magic. That is my personal favourite type of magic. As a teenager who performs at school, if I put a coin in a card, I will get a good reaction. But most likely the kids will get jealous of the attention I am getting and hate me for it. Whereas if they do the magic, they feel like they have accomplished something. That is how I like to perform, especially around people my age.
Also the routine presentation is all up to your imagination. You can get as crazy as you want to with this. He gives a few extra ideas at the end of the download but he teaches the presentation you see on the demo.
Overall, this is a great piece of magic. Mr Wiehl is a great teacher and continues to release great material. I highly recommend this if you don't mind a few minutes of cutting and pasting. I will be using this regularly. Well done!
