I am a huge fan of geek magic so this immediately interested me. The problem with this product however is the risk factor. A lot of methods behind geek magic effects require quite gross set ups (think Saw or Thread) however this is just dangerous. I remember watching the DVD for Wayne Houchin's Thread and being grossed out by the method. However injury or problems are easily avoided because safety precautions are taken. Coin Thru Nose's risk factor is very high and if serious, you could end up in the emergency room.
The problem with Coin Thru Nose is that the set up is really dangerous. Seriously. If you mess up, you are going to have to go to the emergency room. I don't give away methods so this is hard to explain without tipping method. No where on the ad copy does it say you have to be 18 and older to purchase the effect - whereas inside the DVD case it says you have to be older than 18 and you cannot sue the producers if you get injured.
On the DVD, a close up and a parlour version are taught. I prefer the close up handling because it has a really lovely vanish and is a great piece for a group. The parlour version is very unsettling and the spectator shoves huge scissor/tweezers up your nose, which I doubt many will do. However, both are taught very well and you can adapt both to your performance style.
The DVD is very well produced and Tyler Sutter and Lonnie Lyerla teach both routines really well. No issues regarding sound or lighting. The DVD also comes in a really nice case.
Overall, if you like the effect and you are comfortable taking the risk, go for it! But I have worries about this because once again, the set up is dangerous! But I am sure some people could get use out of it, especially if you do a lot of geek magic. I won't use it, but if you like it and aren't scared, go for it! 7/10
