Bill Flash Reverse is basically Mickael's effect Bill Flash (or Money Shot) in reverse. So a playing card turns into a dollar bill with a shake. The method behind this is very clever but there was a few issues regarding the ad copy and the DVD.
First, I will say that the method/gimmick behind the effect is super clever and I could see magicians like Dynamo or Troy performing this on TV. The gimmick is easy to make (if you have the right currency) and would definitely last a long time. A few routines are taught, my favourite was a transposition of a bill and a playing card. The bill goes under a phone and you hold the card up to their eyes and give it a shake and it changes to the bill. They lift up their phone and the card is there. A few other ideas are given, including the original Bill Flash routine.
However, first thing is that in the ad copy it says:
This can be done with ANY currency.
I am from Australia and our money is made of plastic so most money effects cannot be performed with our currency. I was surprised that it said it was possible with every currency (including ours) and was disappointed to find out that this was definitely not the case. Secondly the DVD was a nightmare to navigate. I went back to watch the gimmick construction again and then it took me straight to the final thoughts segment. I tried to go back and it sent me to the beginning. It seemed random and disorganised. Also the gimmick construction segment is very hard to understand as it is a diagram you have to pause on and construct.
Overall, Mickael has had a great idea yet fell short with the DVD. I think this could have been better if they had been honest and listed the notes that do work with the effect and put more effort into the DVD. I'm not lying when I say the gimmick is very clever, however there is a lot more work needed on this project. 6/10
