I received this yesterday and got to have a play around with it so here are my thoughts. If you haven't seen the trailer, it is a self bending paperclip with an "ordinary paperclip". There aren't any "gimmicks" so to speak but the paperclip is gimmicked and is unable to be examined without a switch.
The actual bending is very easy to do but looks nothing like it does in the trailer. The bend starts off really fast and slows down and stops at about the 90 degree mark, I have only got close to the full 180 shown on the demo, once! I personally think that's false advertising showing a 180 bend every time yet the paperclip really only does 90.
The bend to 90 is still pretty good and has a great impact but I didn't pay for a 90, but for a 180 every time. Also some clips don't turn out the same way as others in terms of how far they bend.
Production and DVD quality was perfect. Well shot DVD, good audio, "Nick from P3" goes over everything very well. You recieve about 20 paperclips with the DVD.
The other thing is he says "an ordinary paperclip". The clip is indeed normal but it is a type of paperclip that is harder to find than regular paperclips. Plus you have to gimmick the paperclip before performing. You make your own mind up about whether that is a false statement or not.
Overall, it's a good trick, but not the trick advertised on the trailer. I will perform this at school because there are paperclips everywhere at high school.180 or not, people will still be amazed. Plus if you play it as a PK demonstration, it will not matter how far it goes but that it bends with the power of the mind, so to speak.
I am semi-happy with this and see potential in this. There will most probably be a Bently 2.0 or Bently Redefined in a year or two that hopefully will fix the current issues it has. 6/10
