Alliance is a visual effect from Danny Weiser in which a deck of cards visually changes into the card box. The deck is then found back inside the box, which can be removed and is completely ungimmicked.
The method for Alliance is great. It is crazy clever and when you play with the gimmick, you can't help but smile. The gimmick is installed on your card box, and is very well concealed. The box is not examinable however, but I don't really see that as an issue. The gimmick should last you ages and the one element that needs to be replaced over time is really easy to fix, and you get enough supply to fix it when necessary.
The "re box" is easy to do, takes maybe 5-10 to get the knack down, but I don't see anyone having any issue with it. It looks great, is The gimmick executes quickly and is very well hidden. The effect is best performed, however, from the front. Due to the way the gimmick works, people watching from the sides could catch something, however this is not an issue in my eyes.
A few ideas are given on the DVD, such as a colour changing deck and a cards through box effect. The colour change I personally didn't like but it does look great. He cards through box was brilliant however, and I have been using it as a follow up to the Alliance effect.
The DVD is very well produced with the iconic James Bond theme to it. No problems surrounding sound, video or production quality. Chris Webb teaches the effect and the variations in great detail and he is a really thorough and entertaining teacher as well.
Alliance is a really fun project. It is a simple gimmick you can put on your card box and carry with you wherever you go. I personally will be using the change, then the cards through box as a follow up later on. Really awesome stuff. 9/10
